Dr. Besik Chaduneli
Dr. Chaduneli is a Sports Medicine doctor with 30 years of professional experience in High Performance Sports like rugby (most of the time), football, triathlon, swimming, tennis, etc. One of his prefered fields in sports sciences is Exercise Physiology. He also has a vast epxerience in Cardiac Rehabilittion.
He lived and worked in Colombia for 17 years, where he obtained his proffesional degree in Sports Medicine.
Upon his return to Georgia in 2017, he was appointed Georgian National Rugby Team Doctor and Chief Medical Officer of the Georgia Rugby Union. He held the latter position until June, 2022.
Currently, he is a Medical Trainer for World Rugby and a member of the Rugby Europe Player Welfare Sub-Committee. In these roles, he delivers World Rugby courses throughout Europe (First Aid In Rugby, Immediate Care In Rugby, Match Day Doctor, Educator curse) and is appointed at Rugby Europe International Tournaments as a Medical Delegate.
He was also the International Doping Control Officer for Clearidium, Denmark, for the years 2022-2024.
Dr Chaduneli speaks fluent English, Spanish, Russian and, of course, Georgian, which is his mother tongue.
